Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids because humans must get them from food or supplementation; i.e., they cannot be made from other substances in the body. Essential omega-3 fatty acids from fish, EPA and DHA, are beneficial for the cardiovascular system. Great product; excellent company, no fillers, checked for heavy metals, toxins, etc. Highly recommended. It is a little pricey but you only take one supplement a day (90 day supply).

Thorne is a good brand and I purchase this because it was less expensive than Nordic Naturals but the taste made me stop taking this supplement
