HN019, a probiotic strain included in this formula, was shown in a placebo-controlled trial to promote a healthy gut microflora. It significantly increased Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli counts, while reducing the population of Enterobacteria (a genus that includes many pathogenic bacteria).
