Suggested Usage
Squirt a little bit of Shaving Soap onto your hands (about the size of a nickel) and rub them together for a good lather. Apply to face-underarms-legs and continue to rub soap into skin and hair, enhancing the lather and preparing skin for a good, clean shave. Works best right out of the shower‚ when skin is moist and hairs are soft!

Good, though not for everyone

Dr. Bronner's shaving soap is very good though not for everyone. I shave my head and have graduated to a fairly aggressive razor. For me, this soap doesn't give me the cushion that I need between the blade and the skin. If I were using a more mild razor this would likely be perfect. If you are looking at this for shaving underarms and legs or face shaving with a cartridge razor this will work very well.
The packaging is a mistake by Dr Bronner's, in my opinion. This product is about the consistency of a light syrup. It's very easy to mistakenly dispense too much. It really should be sold in a pump bottle. I find that it's best to dispense what you need and store it upside down (cap up).
The ingredients are very moisturizing. In fact Lisa Bronner says this is their most moisturizing soap, due to the sucrose that acts as a humectant. I will use this as a face wash and a prep for shaving.
