Calcium (CA) is one of the most abundant minerals in the body and combines with phosphorus to form calcium phosphate in the bones and teeth. It is essential for the normal functioning of nerves and muscles and plays a role in blood coagulation (as factor IV) and in many enzymatic processes.
Orotate is the salt of a crystalline acid called orotic acid which occurs in milk and is a growth factor for various microorganisms (as Lactobacillus bulgaricus) and a precursor of the pyrimidine bases of nucleotides.
Magnesium (MG) is important for the activity of many enzymes, especially those involved in oxidative phosphorylation (i.e., electron transfer through the cytochrome system liberating free energy which is transformed into high-energy phosphate bonds.
