Boswellia (Boswellia Serrata) is a gum resin that is extracted from the bark of Boswellia trees. It’s known for its ability to support healthy joint function. Boswellia trees typically grow to a height of 50 feet and can be found around the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen and India.
There are 20 different species of the trees, each with a resin particular to that tree. Differences in the climate and soil add even more diversity to the resin, which is burned for its unique aroma or used in nutritional supplements.
