The docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) found in fish oil actually originate in the algae that fish consume. Whole Earth & Sea Marine Algae DHA Vegan Omega-3 provides the benefits of these omega-3 fatty acids in a sustainably harvested, non-GMO formula derived from algae. Extracted from specially selected microalgae that naturally produce pure DHA and EPA, this algae-based source of omega-3 has no fishy smell or aftertaste.

DHA supports healthy eyes, vision, and brain function and is vital for healthy eye and brain development in infants. It also supports cardiovascular health and helps regulate healthy inflammatory responses. While the body can convert some shorter chain omega-3 essential fatty acids to DHA and EPA, only a small amount is converted. As a result, obtaining these fatty acids through supplementation is often recommended.

  • Marine Algae DHA has 300 mg of DHA and 9 mg of EPA. Unlike plant-sourced omega-3s, algal-sourced omega-3s do not require conversion and are more easily used by the body. Marine Algae DHA Vegan Omega-3 is guaranteed to be free of ocean-born contaminants, including heavy metals, pesticides, and other environmental pollutants.
  • Excellent vegetarian and vegan alternative to fish oil
  • Fish-free source of omega-3
  • NO fishy aftertaste or fish burps
  • Source of same DHA and EPA fatty acids found in fish oil that are vital nutrients for healthy heart and brain function
  • Non-GMO, Suitable for Vegetarians/Vegans
  • Manufactured in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) of the FDA and Health Canada

Great for DHA and is vegetarian!

This was prescribed to me by my acupuncturist and it is a great vegetarian DHA supplement, if you don't want to consume fish oil. She told me that the fish get their nutrients from the algae in the ocean and so, this plant-based supplement is a more direct source of DHA.
