Pycnogenol® tablets, provided by Douglas Laboratories, supplies 50 mg of pure, patented pine bark extract in each capsule.
Pycnogenol's antioxidant activity is many times more effective than that of vitamin C and vitamin E. Pycnogenol® enhances the effectiveness of vitamins C and E and can be taken together with these vitamins for added benefit.
The unique nutrient mixture supplied by Pycnogenol® helps maintain a healthy capillary system in several ways. It protects vitamin C which is necessary for the production of collagen. Pycnogenol® can also naturally stimulate production of nitric oxide in blood vessels which is vital for supporting normal arterial health. Furthermore, Pycnogenol® binds to collagen fibers, protecting them from attack by free radicals so that the natural elasticity of collagen in skin, joints, arteries, capillaries and other tissues is maintained.

Medications that decrease the immune system (Immunosuppressants) interacts with PYCNOGENOL Pycnogenol seems to increase the immune system. By increasing the immune system pycnogenol might decrease the effectiveness of medications that decrease the immune system. Some medications that decrease the immune system include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and others.
