Eggshellent Calcium powder provides approximately 1900 mg of calcium per teaspoon. There are no fillers or additives. The shells are pasteurized then ground in a chemical free process to an ultra fine powder to maximize absorption. The crystalline matrix of eggshell calcium carbonate provides more surface area for digestion than calcium carbonate from inorganic sources.
A Natural Choice for bone health:
- The single most important supplement when feeding a wholesome raw food diet. Raw meat is high in phosphorus and low in calcium. Eggshellent helps to rebalance the calcium to phosphorus ratio.
- Multiple studies have shown the effectiveness of eggshell in supporting bone mineral density.
- Natural ultra-refined eggshell calcium avoids typical digestive discomfort.
- Non-chemical, eco-friendly manufacturing process in an FDA regulated GMP facility.
Generally, one teaspoon will provide calcium to balance one pound of muscle meat. The required amount can vary depending on other ingredients. Follow a reliable recipe or ask your pet health practitioner.

Excellent product

My Burmese cats are fed a raw meat diet. I use this product as part of the ingredients used in the mixture to make sure they have a good calcium, bone building source in the food. Taurine, salmon oil and vitamins are also included.

Wonderful product for when your dog cannot eat raw bones
by iluvmyGSD
My senior GSD loved eating raw bones all his life, but started to slow down, and no longer would eat raw bones. I could see his age was showing, so to make things easier for him I fed this powder. I mixed 1 -2 teaspoons eggshell powder per pound of raw food depending on how firm his poo was. I was very happy with this product.

Required ingredient of homemade dog food

This is a very necessary ingredient if making your own dog food. I have found it much easier than making my own with eggshells.

Great product
by Eddie's mom -
Our dog had surgery on his kneecaps, and three weeks later broke one leg in two places when he tried to jump. He had another surgery, but the bones just would not heal. When we finally went to an alternative meds vet for help, after the two different surgeons were baffled by the breaks, she determined that his all-meat diet caused a calcium deficiency. After four weeks on the Eggshellent, the bones were completely mended! A miracle product!

I can't understand why it doesn't tell you how much of this is equal to how many egg shells.

A good product and company!
by Kay -
I prepare my 10-year old Australian shepherd's food from scratch. Lots of veges, ground turkey, brown rice and unsweetened applesauce. I add 1/2 tsp. of the eggshell calcium to his food twice a day. He seems happy and healthy and important lipase levels have greatly improved compared to his old diet of just kibbles. Your service and quick shipping have been great.

Highly Recommended
by Patricia -
I highly recommend this product to any dog guardian who prepares homemade food for their dog(s) or supplements commercial food with additional meat or any products that have phosphorus content since the phosphorus to calcium ration has to be in the proper percentage. It's pure egg shell with no additives and is in very fine powder form and does need refrigeration; it's probably best to keep it away from heat. I keep mine in a closed cabinet with canned and boxed food items. To one pound of cooked meat, I add a level 1/2 teaspoon of the EggShellent Calcium and very lightly sprinkle it all over the meat and mix well prior to adding any other ingredients. It's my 2nd jar of the calcium to have on hand when needed for my ""babies'"" food.

I would definitely buy this product again.

I use the EggShellent Calcium for my two cats who are 18 years of age. This product gives them the calcium they need. I add it to their raw food diet along with freeze dried organ meat. This product takes the place of freeze dried chicken necks which are another source of calcium for cats, but you do not have to worry about bones when using the EggShellent Calcium.

Easily Digestible
by Mary -
I make homemade food for my Shi Tzu. She has a very sensitive stomach. I've always heard egg shells are the best calcium supplement for homemade dog food, unless you have a bone grinder. Most people do not. I have an egg allergy, so collecting the egg shells, baking them and then grinding them is just too much work. This supplement is very fine and easily digested. Five stars.

Easily Digestible for Sensitive Stomachs
by Mary -
I just started making homemade food for my Shi Tzu, successfully this time (due to this supplement). I finally found a calcium supplement for my little Daisy's super sensitive stomach. I've always read that crushing egg shells is the best option for calcium in homemade dog food. However, I'm allergic to eggs and saving the shells, baking them and then grounding them up was way too much of a hassle. This powder is very fine and easily digestible. 5 stars.
