Core Bilberry

In WWII, British Royal Air Force pilots recognized that their vision improved with an increased consumption of bilberry jam (which they ate on their bread each day). This prompted many studies to determine which chemical component of bilberry was improving their eyesight. A specific component, anthocyanidins, was found to have the most influence. Anthocyanidins, found in the fruit and leaves of bilberry, assist capillaries (the tiny blood vessels in the eyes, skin and entire body), to function normally and deliver more fluids and nutrients to the body. Research has also shown that bilberry may support normal circulatory system and heart function. Since bilberry jam is not particularly common in North America, we created Core Bilberry to assist the body in maintaining normal eye, circulatory and heart function.

The fruit and leaves of these shrubs are known to be high in the phytochemical anthocyanidins. Anthocyanidins promote health and well-being by scavenging free radicals and preventing oxidation.
